It is still unbelievable that it has been over a year since restaurants have not been able to operate at 100%. While this is great news and it is something to celebrate, there is definitely work to be done to ensure a smooth reopening.

Important Opening Dates for NY, NJ, CT & PA:
May 19th: Restrictions are lifted and restaurants can open at 100% in NY, NJ and CT
May 31st: Indoor dining curfew lifted in NY
May 31st: Restrictions are lifted and restaurants can open at 100% in Pennsylvania (except Philadelphia)
June 11th: Restrictions are lifted and restaurants can open at 100% in Philadelphia

Are you Up to Date with State Regulations?

As exciting as it is to reopen, it is important to be familiar with the regulations in your state. In NY and NJ tables still must be placed at least 6 feet apart, unless there are partitions and according to an announce on May 17th, restaurants can follow the CDC guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals in regard to mask wearing. Which means, if you choose, fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear masks in public settings, or you can choose to keep your mask mandate in place. Other requirements regarding health and safety are still in place.

Technology

Have you ever asked yourself the question, “Can Point of Sale technology help my restaurant operate more effectively?” If not, now would be the time to consider a restaurant POS upgrade. Even though the last year and a half has been quite challenging, it has also forced the restaurant/hospitality industry to evolve using new restaurant technology that have proven to be both successful and profitable.

Contactless Payments, Pay At The Table, Tableside Ordering, Integrated Online Ordering, Self-Service Kiosks and QR codes have shown how fast, we, as an industry have been able to rebound. Not only do guests feel safe and comfortable, but restaurants are seeing more increased ticket averages, improved customer experiences, and improved labor efficiency.

Customers prefer ordering directly from restaurants, rather than going through a platform and this approach is set to have a revenue of $71,918 million by the end of 2021.1

Interested, but overwhelmed with implementation of a POS upgrade? When you work with a qualified and experienced local POS provider, like Cervion Systems, you are in great hands.
